This page explains, in plain language, what information Winny French collects through this website, why, and what you can do about it.

Who we are

Winny French offers online French tutoring across Canada. This website and the emails sent from it are operated by Winny French for Kids, a Corporations Canada nonprofit (corporation number 1687619-6).

What we collect

• When you book a free class or ask a question: your name, email, phone number, your message, and optional details such as a child's grade, school program or the test you're preparing for.
• When you request a free guide: your first name, email, the optional details on that form, and whether you ticked the box to receive emails from us.
• How you found us: your answer to "How did you hear about us?" and, if you arrived from one of our tagged links, the campaign tags in that link (for example "utm_source"), the first page you landed on, and the website that referred you.

Our forms are meant for parents or guardians and for adult learners. Please don't include more information about a child than we need to arrange a class. If the learner is under 18, a parent or guardian should fill in the form.

How we use it

• To reply to you and arrange your free class or tutoring.
• To send the free guide you asked for.
• To send occasional emails with tips, resources and offers, only if you ticked the box. You can unsubscribe at any time.
• To understand which of our efforts help families find us.

We don't sell or rent your personal information.

Service providers

• Web3Forms delivers our website forms to us by email. It says form submissions are kept for a maximum of three years and then deleted, and that it uses AWS, Cloudflare and Hetzner infrastructure. See Web3Forms' privacy policy.
• GitHub Pages hosts the website. GitHub says it logs visitors' IP addresses for security purposes. See GitHub's documentation.
• Email: Web3Forms delivers form submissions to our inbox at winnyfrench@outlook.com. Tuition invoices are separate: they are paid by e-transfer to accounting@winnyfrench.com.
• Analytics: we use Cloudflare Web Analytics. It is cookie-free and stores no personal data.

Cookies and similar tools

Our website doesn't set advertising or tracking cookies. Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits, does not set a cookie and does not store personal data. When you arrive from one of our tagged links, a small script saves the campaign tags in your browser's session storage for that tab only (it's cleared when you close the tab) so they can be included if you fill in a form.

How long we keep it

We keep inquiries and sign-ups for up to 2 years after our last contact with you, then delete them, unless the law requires us to keep them longer.

Your choices

• Unsubscribe from our emails at any time using the link in any email, or by contacting us.
• Ask to see, correct or delete the information we hold about you by contacting us.
• If you have a concern we can't resolve, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

If we change how we handle information, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date.
